☷US Philippine armies enhance interoperability and defense capabilities during Salaknib 24 exercise

Hey , guess what? The United States Army and the Philippine Army are teaming up for a military exercise called Salaknib 24 . It ' s all about boosting our relationship and showing our dedication to regional security . We ' re working together to modernize the Armed Forces of the Philippines and improve our ability to work together in different situations . This year , we ' re even bringing in the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center , which is the U . S . Army ' s first combat training center in the Indo - Pacific region . It ' s a big deal! We ' re focusing on the challenges of tough environments and making sure we ' re ready to handle them . General Charles Flynn , the commander of U . S . Army Pacific , says that this exercise shows how committed we are to a safe and secure Indo - Pacific . We ' re also helping the Philippine Army develop their Combat Readiness Training Area at Fort Magsaysay . The training will take place from June 1 to 10 , 2024 , and it ' s all about building our capabilities and working together to defend the Indo - Pacific . In addition to the training , we ' re also deploying the 1st Multi - Domain Task Force ' s Mid - Range Capability system to enhance the Philippine maritime defense . This is a big step in our partnership and shows how dedicated we are to a free and open Indo - Pacific . Brigadier General Bernard Harrington , the commander of 1MDTF , says that these efforts are crucial for deepening our partnership and improving our ability to work together . The deployment is all about working together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to improve our ability to work together and be ready for any defense situation . Our All - Domain Operations Center Forward in Northern Luzon will be the main hub for our teams spread out across the Philippines . About 600 U . S . Army personnel will be involved in the first phase of Salaknib 24 , with an expected 1 , 500 in the second phase . We ' ll be exchanging knowledge and learning from each other in areas like multi - domain operations , infantry tactics , and more . This whole operation supports our efforts to strengthen our land power capabilities and work together more effectively . Salaknib 24 is all about enhancing our readiness and showing our commitment to a free and open Indo - Pacific region through our partnership with the Philippines .
