☷Springfield Man Pleads Guilty to Firearms Charges

A guy from Springfield admitted in court on Monday that he broke the law by having firearms , ammo , a "Glock switch" machinegun converter , and a silencer . Benjamin Hunter - Blake , 25 , pleaded guilty to three charges: being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammo , having an illegal machinegun , and having an unregistered silencer . Sentencing is set for July 2 , 2024 . On January 27 , 2023 , cops found five pistols at Hunter - Blake ' s place , including a "ghost gun" with a "Glock switch" converter , four other Glock switches , a silencer , and a bunch of ammo and gun - related stuff . They also took his phone , which had evidence that he was getting and giving guns to someone with a felony record . Hunter - Blake was already convicted twice of gun crimes in state court and is currently on house arrest for another gun case . If found guilty of having a firearm as a felon , he could get 15 years in prison and three years of supervised release . Having an illegal machinegun and an unregistered silencer could get him 10 years in prison on each charge , plus three years of supervised release . Hunter - Blake agreed to give up the Glock switches and three high - capacity magazines . The final sentences will be decided by a federal judge based on the guidelines and other legal factors . Acting U . S . Attorney Joshua S . Levy and ATF Special Agent in Charge James M . Ferguson announced the plea . They thanked the Springfield Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police for their help . Assistant U . S . Attorney Steven H . Breslow is handling the case . Boston Field Division .
