Resource management professionals from IMCOM , including both headquarters and garrisons , were recognized for their outstanding performance at the IMCOM G8 Summit and the Alamo Chapter of the American Society of Military Comptrollers Professional Development Symposium . Col . Sam Glover , G8 director , and G8 Deputy Director John Velarde , along with other members of the IMCOM G8 Directorate , received the Meritorious Large Team Award at the event in San Antonio . The summit provided valuable insights and best practices for improving financial management operations , with support from senior leaders and G8 directors from various IMCOM directorates and garrisons . Lt . Gen . John Evans and The Hon . Caral Spangler honored 14 resource management professionals for their contributions to the Army and AMC/IMCOM . Additionally , some G8 professionals were recognized by the ASMC Alamo Chapter for distinguished service . Hubbard and Juarez were also recognized as ASA ( FM&C ) FY23 Award Winners , and they ' ll be officially acknowledged at the National ASMC Professional Development Institute Conference in Phoenix on May 29 - 31 . According to Glover , this not only highlights the amazing work our team does every day , but it also lets our team members know that their peers appreciate their excellence in serving our Soldiers , Civilians , and their Families . It ' s about recognizing the daily efforts at the local level and throughout the Army . We often hear about tactical units and assume it ' s all about shooting tanks or flying helicopters , but it ' s also important to honor the folks in the G8 who make sure contracts are in place for gate guards , utilities are paid , and buildings are maintained . It may not be glamorous , but it ' s crucial in supporting our warfighters and keeping the Army running smoothly . Hubbard , who has been with IMCOM since 2015 and in her current role since 2023 , was commended by Spangler for leading the transition of funding responsibilities from IMCOM to Army Service Component Commands in managing mobilization/demobilization orders for the Active Component . IMCOM used to handle the funding and management of orders for all active , Guard , and Reserve units . Hubbard explained that they helped the ASCCs understand the funding process and provided recommendations for taking over these missions . She was surprised to receive this recognition and wished she could have included the people who did a lot of the groundwork before her . It was a lengthy process to shift the funding responsibility from IMCOM to the responsible ASCCs that fund mobilization missions worldwide . Juarez , the plans , policy , and training branch chief for the G8 , stated that her award reflected her team ' s efforts to address the needs of contract management support officers at IMCOM . She mentioned that out of the $13 billion executed annually , approximately $8 billion is allocated to contract support . Many individuals managing these portfolios at garrisons lack an acquisition background . Over the past couple of years , their focus has been on improving training and simplifying it to cater to the specific tasks that need to be accomplished . What we ' re aiming for is to standardize the process more because having every garrison doing things differently to achieve a mission just doesn ' t work . Greiman , a budget analyst at IMCOM since 2010 , was pleasantly surprised to receive the honor . He believes that if you do your job well , good things will come . Adapting their programming approach to align with the CG ' s vision and using Installation Status Reports to assess risk and make informed decisions was a challenge , but ultimately led to the award . Juarez also commended IMCOM ' s culture of service and recognition of employees for their hard work and dedication , including through developmental assignments . Recognizing employees for their efforts is important and IMCOM does a great job at all levels of showing appreciation in various ways .
