Nicole Meyer ' s dad was a huge inspiration for her and she ended up following in his footsteps and starting her own career in a similar field . Her dad , Josef Meyer , worked in food service for the Army for 35 years , and Nicole also worked in food service for 14 years before transitioning into her current role as a transportation motor pool vehicle maintenance clerk . Now , she works at Logistics Readiness Center Ansbach in Germany . Being a dad is a special role , and Nicole Meyer definitely recognizes that . Her dad meant a lot to her and inspired her to build her own career based on his . He worked as a food service specialist and cook for 35 years at the 3rd Infantry Division ' s Harvey Barracks in Kitzingen , Germany . During that time , he cooked for countless American Soldiers . Nicole , as a local national employee , has been with the Army for 20 years . For the first 14 years , she also worked in food service , helping to feed U . S . Soldiers . Now , she works as a vehicle maintenance clerk at Logistics Readiness Center Ansbach on Barton Barracks . Her main responsibility is managing the maintenance schedules for non - tactical vehicles that support the U . S . Army Garrison Ansbach community . In this role , she creates reports , updates units on vehicle maintenance , and coordinates the pickup and re - dispatch of vehicles . She also assists with accident reports and property loss investigations , and helps out with TMP dispatching when needed . Nicole Meyer started her Army career as a food service worker and made the switch to her current position about six years ago . Working at the TMP office is considered a step up and comes with a slightly higher pay . Plus , it ' s a bit easier than food service , which requires working every day , including weekends and holidays . During the week , they only get one of two days off , especially during holidays , " said the 49 - year - old from Kitzingen , who has an apartment in Ansbach but goes home to her family on weekends and holidays . Meyer has a lot of respect for all the food service workers , culinary specialists , and dining facility attendants in the Army . She easily empathizes with them because her dad did it for 35 years and she worked in the business herself for 14 years . Nicole Meyer currently works as a vehicle maintenance office clerk at Logistics Readiness Center Ansbach . Previously , she worked as a food service worker for 14 years . In the picture , Meyer is seen helping serve a dinner meal at the Flight Line Cafe Warrior Restaurant in Illesheim , Germany . Josef Meyer , her father , worked as a food service specialist and cook for the Army for 35 years . They are responsible for managing about 380 non - tactical vehicles and several buses that support the USAG Ansbach community , including the rotational brigades stationed there , and more . LRC Ansbach is one of eight LRCs under the command and control of the 405th Army Field Support Brigade .
