Hey there , it ' s Secretary Blinken and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg catching up before their meeting . Stoltenberg welcomes Blinken back to NATO and thanks him for his leadership and commitment to the Alliance . They discuss strengthening support for Ukraine , burden sharing among Allies , and the importance of working with Asia - Pacific partners . They also touch on celebrating NATO ' s 75th anniversary at an upcoming summit in Washington . Blinken expresses gratitude for Stoltenberg ' s leadership and emphasizes the strength and unity of the Alliance . And like the secretary general said , tomorrow , as we start celebrating the 75th anniversary , we ' re not only reflecting on the past 75 years , but also focusing on the next 75 and what we need to do now to ensure the Alliance remains strong . As Jens mentioned , this is the most successful defensive alliance in history , with no intentions of taking over other countries ' territory , but with a commitment to protect each member ' s territory . We ' ve got each other ' s backs , and if one of us is attacked , we all step in to help . This approach has been unique and effective in preventing aggression and creating a secure environment for our people . However , it requires constant effort and renewal . That ' s why we ' re working hard to prepare for the summit , ensuring everyone is sharing the burden and that the Alliance has the capabilities to face new challenges . We also need countries to continue supporting Ukraine in dealing with Russia ' s aggression . Today ' s session on summit preparations went well , and we ' ll provide more updates on Ukraine and our partners as we continue to strengthen the Alliance . But none of this would have been possible without the leadership of the secretary general . Thanks , Jens .
