☷Command and General Staff College inducts Thai military leader to International Hall of Fame

Gen . Songwit Noonpackdee , the Chief of Defense Forces for the Royal Thai Armed Forces , recently spoke at his induction ceremony for the Command and General Staff College ' s International Hall of Fame . The event took place on April 2 , 2024 , at the Lewis and Clark Center in Fort Leavenworth , Kansas . Noonpackdee is the 299th inductee since the program began in 1973 and the ninth Thai officer to receive this honor . The selection for the Hall of Fame is based on distinguished service and exceptional leadership within the military . Noonpackdee has been serving since 1988 and was appointed as the 35th Chief of Defense Forces in October 2023 . Lt . Gen . Milford Beagle , the Commanding General of the U . S . Army Combined Arms Center , expressed his pride in having Noonpackdee as part of the Command and General Staff College ' s international military graduate community , which consists of over 8 , 500 individuals . Beagle emphasized the significance of the Hall of Fame , calling it the highest achievement for a senior military leader . Beagle also highlighted Noonpackdee ' s career as a "warrior scholar , " noting his academic achievements and completion of various military training courses . Noonpackdee ' s induction ceremony included the unveiling of his photo , which will be displayed in the International Hall of Fame gallery . Reflecting on his time at Fort Leavenworth and the Command and General Staff Officer Course , Noonpackdee spoke about the valuable lessons he learned and the friendships he formed with classmates from different nations . He encouraged all students present to focus on their studies and connections , as they will be essential for their future experiences . "Yowie is following in the footsteps of great generals like Sherman , Eisenhower , Patton and many more . Your standards are higher and better than your peers . Be kind . Make friends . Be true friends to each other . Friends give you resiliency and allow you to get back on your feet . Rise up and prepare to keep fighting in this turbulent and uncertain world . " Inductees into the International Hall of Fame will receive gifts from the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Military Medal of the World Wars and the CGSC Foundation . Each person’s official photo will also hang in the IHOF display at the Lewis and Clark Center . Gen .
