   The US Department of Labor is giving out $10 . 5 million to help young people with disabilities find jobs . They ' re working with the Connecticut , Kansas , Minnesota , and New York Departments of Labor to develop strategies for assisting disabled youth in underserved communities . The grants will support efforts to find solutions that improve training and employment opportunities for disabled young people . The Department of Labor wants to make sure that all young people have access to the opportunities they deserve . The Biden - Harris administration is committed to creating a more inclusive workforce , and these grants align with that goal . The total funding could reach $67 . 1 million , depending on the awardees ' plans and federal funding availability . The Department of Labor recognizes that disabled youth face many barriers to employment , especially those from underserved communities , and they want to find effective strategies for overcoming those barriers .
