☷Camp Zama JROTC cadets demonstrate attention to detail during in ranks inspection

Command Sgt . Maj . Davis Rio , the senior enlisted leader of U . S . Army Garrison Japan , checked out the uniforms of Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadets from Zama Middle High School’s Trojan Battalion during an inspection on January 24 at the school’s football field . The cadets were evaluated on their attention to detail during the inspection , which included grading on their dress uniforms , knowledge of JROTC standards and conduct , and a presentation from the color guard . Retired Lt . Col . Douglas Fields , the senior JROTC instructor , praised the cadets for their performance , particularly highlighting the color guard . The cadets take pride in their appearance during the uniform inspection and understand the importance of meeting the standards set by the Army . After the evaluation , Sgt . Maj . Rio commended the cadets for their hard work and dedication , stating that they were successful . Cadet Command Sgt . Maj . Emerson Moore , a sophomore , shared that everyone focused on improving the areas they would be graded on and found the preparation and dedication of the battalion impressive . Moore learned the importance of being prepared and ensuring the entire team is ready . As a senior enlisted leader in the battalion , Moore said it was important for her to work on improving her communication skills so she could better mesh with her fellow cadets . “I ' m in the JROTC program because I want to be a better person overall , ” Moore said . “I want to learn how to take responsibility and be more responsible . ”
