☷Agricultural Producers to Conserve Land through Climate Smart Easements as part of President s Biden s Investing in America Agenda

The USDA is investing $138 million from President Biden ' s Inflation Reduction Act in 138 new climate - smart conservation easements for farmers and ranchers to protect wetlands , grasslands , and farmlands . This is the largest climate investment in history and part of President Biden ' s Investing in America agenda . The NRCS has expanded priorities to help more producers adopt climate - smart practices and streamline assistance . Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack emphasized the importance of these easements in protecting sensitive landscapes . These investments also support the President ' s America the Beautiful initiative . NRCS prioritized projects that reduce carbon emissions and selected projects in various states addressing different conservation priorities . If you ' re interested in applying for ACEP or any other NRCS conservation program , you can apply at any time . Just make sure to check the state - specific ranking dates to be considered for the next funding cycle . Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act , there ' s a total of $19 . 5 billion in funding available for climate - smart agriculture and forestry mitigation activities through NRCS conservation programs . This includes $1 . 4 billion specifically allocated for ACEP . This funding will be spread out over several years . If you want more information , ACEP - ALE provides financial assistance to eligible entities for purchasing easements that protect agricultural use and conservation values of land .
