Hey folks , thanks for having me here at the Wisconsin Coordinated Campaign Headquarters in Milwaukee . It ' s great to see such a strong group of supporters here , including Gwen Moore , your county executive , and your mayor . This campaign is all about connecting with people , and that means getting out there and knocking on doors the old - fashioned way . We ' ve got 44 headquarters in this state , and I have no doubt that one of you will be the next President one day . And hey , let ' s not forget to have some fun along the way - like when I joked with a kid in the audience about becoming President one day . There ' s a lot at stake in this campaign , and I believe in investing in people from the middle out and the bottom up . It ' s time for the wealthy to start paying their fair share of taxes . And just earlier today , I announced a $36 million project to reconnect this city in a way that should have never been separated in the first place . But hey , we ' ve got over $3 billion to make this happen nationwide . It ' s all about bringing people together , you know? I have a totally different view than the opposition , those guys I ' m running against . I don ' t think we ' re a dying nation , I think we ' re growing . Seriously , I mean it . ( Applause . ) And I ' ve been at this for a long time . But honestly , I ' ve never been more optimistic about America ' s future . Never , never , never . And it ' s all in your hands , folks like you all across the country . This is how I won the first time , and this is how we ' ll win again . Many of you helped me in 2020 , and we made sure he was a complete loser . ( Laughter . ) And we ' re gonna do it again , right? ( Applause . ) And by the way , we are a country of immigrants . They ' re not "vermin . " ( Applause . ) Look , the truth is , all of us are immigrants , except the Native Americans . Immigration is what built this country . That ' s why we ' re the most unique , powerful , and connected nation in the world . We need to embrace it , not turn our backs on it . Anyway , there ' s a lot more to talk about , but I just wanted to come here and say thank you , thank you , thank you . ( Applause . ) And remember , history is watching . This young man will be reading about what we do or don ' t do . Not just me personally , but what we as a generation accomplish . We have a chance to steer this country in the right direction , to make some real progress . We already have the most vibrant economy in the world , but there ' s still so much more to do . We ' re investing in healthcare and all the things that matter . Your senator from this state , Johnson , wants to get rid of it all if we win . So , it ' s really important , not because of me , but because of all of you and what we can achieve together . Oh , and by the way , no one should be locked up for just using or having marijuana on their record . ( Laughter . ) Seriously , I ' m taking care of that . No one will be jailed . ( Applause . ) It ' s ridiculous that it stays on their record for simply smoking weed . Now , if you ' re selling or growing it , that ' s a different story . But if you ' re just using it , it should be wiped clean . Because you have that on your record , you gotta answer if you ' ve ever been arrested or have a felony , and you have to say yes . But not anymore , not anymore . Anyway , we gotta address everything from gun violence to choice . Our freedoms are on the line , seriously , the right to choose , the right to vote and how we vote . There ' s so much more we can do , but I ' m rambling . I just want to talk to each of you individually . Thanks a lot , everyone . ( Applause . ) 4:26 P . M . CDT .
