GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To oversee and help assure that the communications center is maintained for municipal, county, state and national law enforcement agencies; all emergency response units in the county; the general public and to properly service the citizens of Delta County within the dispatch center’s capacity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To oversee and assure that the Essential Position Functions & Responsibilities and Tasks Performed as outlined in the Dispatch Position Description are accomplished per Policy and Procedure and/or Standard Operating Procedures established for and/or by Dispatch.
Receive/relay information and responding to urgent and non urgent emergency requests.
Help maintain and assure office safety and the safety of all other responding units.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in emergency communication or a similar position with two (2) years of supervisor experience.
Candidate must possess the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and concisely.
Combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current and valid Colorado Driver’s License
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified
Emergency Medical Dispatch Certified
Other:
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check to work in the Sheriff’s Office.
Hiring Range:
$76,149 annually

Employees contribute 4% of salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year. We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling.
