☷Billings Man Accused of Armed Patrols on Sidewalk in an Elementary School Zone Admits Firearms Crime

A guy in Billings , Montana admitted to having a gun near a school , and now he could face up to five years in prison . The court will decide his sentence in August . It all started when the police got a call about him walking around with a gun in front of his house . Multiple people saw him carrying a firearm on the sidewalk , and he even admitted to patrolling the area with it . Law enforcement found a shotgun and ammunition at his house . Prosecutors are handling the case . The Billings Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms , and Explosives teamed up for the investigation . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program that brings together law enforcement at all levels and the communities they serve to make our neighborhoods safer . On May 26 , 2021 , the Department started a strategy to reduce violent crime and strengthen PSN by focusing on building trust in our communities , supporting organizations that prevent violence , setting enforcement priorities , and measuring the outcomes .
