A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for having a firearm after a previous felony conviction , according to U . S . Attorney Eric G . Olshan . Attorney Olshan praised the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General , and Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office for their efforts in the investigation and successful prosecution of Wise . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program that brings together law enforcement at all levels and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence , making our neighborhoods safer . On May 26 , 2021 , the Department of Justice launched a strategy to reduce violent crime by strengthening PSN , focusing on building trust in communities , supporting organizations that prevent violence , setting enforcement priorities , and measuring results .
