ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve as the department head for the Land Department, providing leadership and direction to all department staff and the office’s operations/services within the County. Support the County’s short- and long-term planning for growth and preservation of its land and land records by establishing goals, objectives, and priorities within the policy directives set by the County Board. Develop, implement, and enforce ordinances and policies. Serve as Deputy Auditor in performing statutory Land Department duties of the Auditor under MN Statute 282.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry from a Society of American Forester accredited college. Six (6) years of related full-time work experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Certificates/Licenses Required:
Possess a valid driver’s license, preferably a Commercial Driver’s License due to required forestry equipment. Provide proof of or obtain an explosives license and a Minnesota Pesticide Applicator’s license upon hire. Enroll in Society of American Foresters upon hire. Obtain a Federal Aviation Administration Drone License as course is offered. Obtain certification from a State recognized blasting authority within two years of hire, as course is offered. Annually pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) background check conducted by the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office.
