Zachary Hutchinson , a 39 - year - old from Indianapolis , has been given a nine - year prison sentence for illegally having a firearm as a previously convicted felon . It all went down when parole agents and police officers made an unexpected visit to Hutchinson ' s place on September 22 , 2020 . They found a handgun right in plain sight on the couch behind Hutchinson , so they told him to put his hands behind his back . Instead , he took a few steps back towards the couch , reached for the gun , and said , "Just kill me now . " Thankfully , they managed to safely detain him . They also found some meth in his pocket and a shotgun in his bedroom . Turns out , Hutchinson has been convicted of nine felonies in Indiana , including battery , strangulation , and robbery . U . S . Attorney Zachary A . Myers commended the authorities involved in keeping the community safe from illegally armed felons . The Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department handled the investigation , and Hutchinson will be supervised by the U . S . Probation Office for three years after his release .
