Col . Anthony Pollio , the commander of U . S . Army Garrison Fort Leonard Wood , spoke at a town hall meeting for garrison employees on January 17th at Nutter Field House . The next town hall meeting for employees will be held on April 17th . Garrison leaders at Fort Leonard Wood recently hosted a town hall meeting for civilian employees . Col . Anthony Pollio started off the event by expressing gratitude to everyone for attending and then invited Command Sgt . Maj . Danny Castleberry to join him on stage to recognize some outstanding employees . They recognized Joe Johnson Jr . for his 35 years of service , as well as Douglas Singleton II and Guy Caley for their 25 years of service . Several other employees were also acknowledged for their excellent work . Angela Merritt , Bryan Enicar , Shannon Suarez , Marc Machado , Patrick Riggins , and Samantha Marler were among those recognized . Pollio mentioned that the senior leadership appreciates all the hard work of the employees and thanked them for supporting the mission . The next agenda item was the upcoming changes to the operating hours of the West and South gates . Pollio explained that due to a shortage of civilian gate guards , military personnel have been assigned to work at the gates , impacting the training brigades ' ability to carry out their primary mission . As a result , the commanding general decided to reduce the gate hours . Starting from February 1st , the West Gate will operate from 5 a . m . to 9 p . m . daily , and the South Gate will be open from 4 a . m . to 9 p . m . daily . Pollio also mentioned that the Department of Emergency Services team is working on allowing emergency responders access outside of normal operating hours . Two off - post town hall meetings are scheduled for individuals to discuss the gate changes with civic leaders in the area . Pollio emphasized that Fort Leonard Wood senior leaders will gather feedback about gate access and reassess the situation after 60 days . He also addressed job vacancies on post , stating that the majority of vacancies are in the Child Development Centers . Efforts are being made to hire more people and reduce turnover in that area . Lastly , mark your calendars for the next garrison employee town hall on April 17 . It ' s a great opportunity to stay updated and get involved .
