Job Title: VICTIM SERVICES PROJECT COORDINATOR
Department: COUNTY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
Starting Salary: $48,710 (Range 65)
Definition:
The Project Coordinator position is a full performance supervisor for the County Attorney Victim Services Program. The Project Coordinator supervises and coordinates all the functions of Victim Services staff and is responsible for program management, development and growth of the numerous departmental victim related grants
&
programs. The incumbent establishes communications with victims/witnesses, provides crisis intervention services, advises victims of their statutory rights, keeps victims/witnesses informed regarding their cases, and provides referrals to appropriate community resources. The incumbent serves as a liaison for the County Attorney on victim issues and represents the County Attorney's Office in meetings and forums that deal with crime victim compensation and/or the victim witness program. The incumbent is also responsible for fulfilling program/grant reporting requirements.

Tasks:
Provides direct suppo1i, case notification, advocacy, crisis counseling, and financial assistance to victims of crime; Provides information and support needed to ensure positive experiences with the criminal justice system; Develops and updates victim notification letters to ensure compliance with Arizona's Constitution and laws; Creates digital and electronic Impact Statements as directed by the victim and/or the victim's family; Conducts follow up surveys with victims and victim's representatives to ensure their needs are met; Maintains County Attorney's victim video conference room which provides a comfortable, safe place for victims to view and hear their case court proceedings without intimidation from the defendant and/or the defendant's family members.
Manages the County Attorney's Crime Victim Services Program; Holds regular meetings with staff as a group and individually; plans, coordinates, and evaluates the activities of the Program; Supervises, trains and coordinates activities of all victim services staff including volunteers; Provides training, instruction, and orientation to new victim services employees; Participates in interviewing and selecting new victim services employees; Maintains personnel files and time sheet records for victim services staff; Determines work schedules and on call schedules for victim services staff and volunteers; Organizes and holds Victim Compensation Program public meeting and maintains audio minutes at such meetings; Reviews and approves payments to victims awarded financial assistance; Composes and submits grant proposals and monitors budgets for the victim services program; Develops and implements new or revised operating procedures for the program; Develops strategies to enhance victim services and efficiency; Develops and administers data collection processes and procedures to comply with all mandated reporting requirements of the program grants; Creates and maintains databases to capture statistical information; Administers and monitors numerous departmental grants.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of:
County policies and procedures;
Arizona Criminal Justice System and Arizona Victims' Rights Act;
Basic criminal law and procedure and its application to crime victims;
Relevant Federal, State, and County grants regulations, procedures, and
accountability s
tandards;
Federal and state laws, rules, and procedures (adult and juvenile);
Principles or grant fund accounting, contracts, and records/statistical management;
Community resources available to enhance and support victim services;
Operation computer, computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases;
Methods, objectives, and standard practices for advocacy and case management;
Multidisciplinary Response Protocols and their implementation;
Skill in:
Planning, organizing, and supervising the activities of assigned victim services staff and volunteers;
Prioritizing work assignments to meet time constraints and maximize efficiently;
Using computers and advanced level software applications;
Analyzing and compiling technical and statistical information for victim services, programs, and grants;
Communicating effectively in writing and verbally;
Preparing rep011s, correspondence, and other presentations for internal and external audiences;
Assessing community needs and resources and conducting research;
Managing several grants and programs simultaneously;
Developing, evaluating, and analyzing operational policies and procedures relevant to victim services;
Preparing, interpreting, and applying procedures, laws, rules, and regulations related to victim services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in social sciences or related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) or more years of experience in the human services field and at least two (2) of those years should include supervisory experience

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
