☷Two Men Indicted for Federal Firearm and Drug Offenses

In a more laid - back announcement , U . S . Attorney Duane A . Evans shared that Tevin Marcelin , 29 , and Derrick Doughty , 32 , both from New Orleans , were hit with a seven - count indictment for breaking federal gun and drug laws on Feb . 8 , 2024 . The charges include possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine , marijuana , and cocaine , as well as possession of firearms in connection with drug crimes . If convicted , Marcelin and Doughty could face some serious jail time , fines , and supervised release . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in our communities . Remember , these are just charges and the defendants are innocent until proven guilty . The Department rolled out a new strategy to reduce violent crime on May 26 , 2021 . This plan focuses on building trust in communities , supporting organizations that prevent violence , setting specific enforcement goals , and measuring outcomes . The case was looked into by the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , the New Orleans Police Department , and the Louisiana State Police . Assistant U . S .
