☷Thirteen Mexican Mafia Members or Associates Charged for Alleged Roles in Drug Smuggling Ring Inside the Los Angeles County Jail System and Violent Assault on Inmate

Thirteen members or associates of the Mexican Mafia prison gang are facing charges from the Los Angeles County District Attorney ' s Office for allegedly being involved in a narcotic smuggling operation and violent assault that happened in the Los Angeles County jail system . Two of the defendants were arrested on March 14 , and one was arrested on March 15 . Eight defendants were already in jail for other charges . The Los Angeles County Sheriff ' s Department and the FBI ' s San Gabriel Valley Safe Streets Task Force are currently searching for two individuals . The investigation started in February 2022 when authorities received reports of drugs being smuggled into the jail and a violent attack on an inmate . It is believed that the smuggling and assault were coordinated by high - ranking associates of the Mexican Mafia outside the jail , under the authority of a member in state prison . A Mexican Mafia facilitator is accused of giving orders to associates in the jail to attack someone who falsely claimed to be a member of the gang . Multiple associates allegedly carried out the attack , resulting in the victim being hospitalized . The investigation also revealed that a Mexican Mafia secretary and shotcallers within the jail were involved in moving drugs within the facility for sale to other inmates . In another incident , a shotcaller reported that drugs belonging to a Mexican Mafia member had been smuggled into the jail by an inmate . Deputies seized over 30 grams of heroin when they identified the inmate in possession of the drugs . A search warrant at the facilitator ' s residence led to the seizure of approximately 10 ounces of methamphetamine , a firearm , Mexican Mafia communications , and around $16 , 000 in cash labeled with the names of shotcallers within the jail . The two people charged in this case were arrested on March 14 at their home: Estela Guerrero , 50 , from Long Beach , California , and Daniel Arochi - Gonzalez , 24 , from Carson , California . Another person , Rosa Christina Martinez , 35 , was arrested on March 15 in Compton , California . Eight other people charged in this case are already in jail for different reasons: Jose Martinez , 36 , Pharoah Brooks , 47 , David Fraysure , 28 , Jackie Triplett , 40 , Jessie Quintero , 44 , Andy Dominguez , 30 , Angel Grajales , 33 , and Daniel Garcia , 37 . Two more people are on the run and are wanted by the authorities: Marco Lujan , 47 , and Ariel Pereyra , 28 .
