☷St Paul Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Possession of a Machine Gun Crashed Stolen Vehicle Through a Restaurant During Police Chase

MINNEAPOLIS - A guy from St . Paul pleaded guilty to having a machine gun after a shooting incident that ended with him crashing a stolen car into a restaurant , according to United States Attorney Andrew M . Luger . On February 15 , 2023 , the St . Paul Police Department responded to a 911 call about shots fired in the area of Luella Street North and Wilson Avenue . Witnesses said they heard automatic gunfire from a black Jeep chasing another Jeep . Cops found the black Jeep with a shot - up rear window a few blocks away . They tried to follow it , but the Jeep led them on a high - speed chase until it crashed into the Ox Cart Ale House . The driver , Moeshea Isiah Hart , 19 , was caught and detained . Officers found a loaded Glock model 45 9mm pistol with a high - capacity magazine and a switch near the driver ' s side door of the Jeep . The gun had been converted into a machine gun . There were also 11 discharged cartridge casings in and around the driver ' s area , including one on the restaurant floor . The stolen Jeep had been reported missing in December 2022 . Hart pleaded guilty to having a machine gun in front of Judge Jerry W . Blackwell in U . S . District Court . A sentencing hearing will be scheduled later . This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , the St . Paul Police Department , and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension . Assistant U . S . Attorney Benjamin Bejar is handling the prosecution .
