☷Springfield Man Sentenced to 16 Years for Meth Trafficking Illegal Firearms

A guy from Springfield got sentenced in federal court today for having over 1 . 2 kilograms of meth to sell and illegally having two guns . Christopher Kelley , who is 43 , got 16 years and six months in federal prison without parole from U . S . District Judge Stephen R . Bough . On July 20 , 2023 , Kelley admitted guilt to having meth with the intention to sell and having a firearm for drug trafficking . Springfield police searched Kelley ' s place on March 11 , 2021 , and found over 1 . 2 kilograms of meth , a stolen Kimber 9mm pistol on the coffee table , a Smith & Wesson . 22 pistol under a couch cushion , eight hollow point bullets , $6 , 842 cash , two phones , and drug stuff . Kelley told investigators he bought around four to six pounds of meth each week for the past five or six months . At the time of this crime , Kelley had a warrant for breaking probation in another case for property damage . He also has past felonies for having drugs , selling meth near a school , and having a gun illegally . Assistant U . S . Attorney Anthony Michael Brown prosecuted this case , and it was looked into by the Drug Enforcement Administration , the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , and the Springfield Police Department .
