A guy who owns a hookah lounge in downtown LA got slapped with a 10 - year prison sentence for selling guns illegally , including some "ghost guns . " Oh , and he had plans to distribute meth too . This dude , Hovik Dagesian , pleaded guilty last September to dealing firearms without a license and possessing methamphetamine . From October 2020 to January 2021 , he made some shady gun sales , including a shotgun , an AR - 15 without a serial number , and a handgun . He even sold meth to someone on October 30 , 2020 . All this sketchy activity went down at his hookah joint , where he managed to sell around $34 , 250 worth of guns and drugs . But in January 2021 , the cops finally caught up with him and found a bunch of meth , a scale , ammo , and more firearms ( including a sawed - off shotgun ) . Turns out , he ' s never been licensed for any of this gun dealing stuff . The Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives and the LAPD investigated the case , and it was prosecuted by the International Narcotics , Money Laundering , and Racketeering Section .
