Over 230 soldiers from all over the US took part in the 2024 US Army Small Arms Championships at Fort Moore , Georgia from March 10 - 16 . The competition , known as All Army , tested their marksmanship skills in various courses of fire using rifles and pistols . South Carolina National Guard Soldiers had to achieve the highest overall score in rifle , pistol , and multigun matches to claim the top spot . This unique competition provides a fun and challenging training opportunity for Soldiers . Staff Sgt . Evan Bayer of the Alabama National Guard highly recommends it , as it helps Soldiers grow as shooters in an uncomfortable but rewarding environment . Along with the individual and team champions , there were several other honors awarded . The full list of winners is provided below . The Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge was awarded to Capt . Andrew Leupp , Staff Sgt . Evan Bayer , and Staff Sgt . Christopher Brookings ( who is a double distinguished Soldier from the 486th ) . The Distinguished Rifleman ' s Badge was awarded to Sgt . 1st Class Dan Whitmer , Sgt . 1st Class John Staats , Sgt . Michael McClaksie , Tech Sgt . Matthew Jasper , Capt . Patrick Randall , and Sgt . Daniel Shumate . Staff Sgt . Nathan Staskiewicz is also a double distinguished Soldier from the 485th . The Col . Ralph Puckett Trophy was awarded to Staff Sgt . Louis Gillaspie , and the Lt . Gen . Benjamin C . Freakley Trophy was awarded to Cadet Aidan Chretien .
