Hey , did you hear? The U . S . Department of Energy ( DOE ) just announced $45 million for 16 projects in six states to protect the energy sector from cyber attacks . These projects will focus on developing new cybersecurity tools and technologies to strengthen the resilience of America ' s energy systems . This investment is part of President Biden ' s commitment to bolstering our energy and national security . DOE is working with industry stakeholders , vendors , national laboratories , and academic institutions to tackle cybersecurity issues in the energy sector . Some of the selected projects include developing advanced AI capabilities to detect cybersecurity incidents and using quantum communication for secure messaging in the power grid . Pretty cool stuff , right?Georgia Tech Research Corporation in Atlanta , TX is working on a project called "DerGuard" using AI to assess and secure energy devices . Texas A&M University - Kingsville in Kingsville , TX is developing a new authentication method to protect DER devices .
