☷Baltimore Man Pleads Guilty to Participating in a Violent Racketeering Conspiracy Including a Murder

A group of people known as the Conspiracy Committed Seven Carjackings , Six Armed Robberies , and Two Attempted Armed Robberies in a span of three months in Baltimore . One member , Daniel Williams , pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges , including murder , carjacking , and armed robbery . The guilty plea was announced by various law enforcement agencies . According to the plea , Williams and at least five others were involved in a criminal enterprise that carried out a series of violent crimes , some of which resulted in fatalities . They used different firearms and shared the profits on social media . Between June and August of a specific year , they committed the mentioned crimes , including carjackings , armed robberies , and attempted armed robberies . Unfortunately , there were victims who were shot and killed or suffered life - threatening injuries . Williams admitted his involvement in an armed carjacking , three armed robberies , and an attempted armed robbery where a victim was fatally shot . Williams and the government have agreed to a 16 - year prison sentence if the plea agreement is accepted . Sentencing is scheduled for a specific date . The case was aided by investigative leads from the ATF ' s National Integrated Ballistic Information Network ( NIBIN ) , a tool that helps link firearms used in multiple crimes . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( "PSN" ) , a program that brings together law enforcement at all levels and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence , and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone . On May 26 , 2021 , the Department of Justice launched a strategy to reduce violent crime and strengthen PSN , focusing on building trust and legitimacy in our communities , supporting community organizations that prevent violence , setting enforcement priorities , and measuring results . United States Attorney Erek L . Barron praised the ATF , FBI , Baltimore Police Department , and Baltimore County Police Department for their work in the investigation . Mr . Barron also thanked Assistant U . S . Attorneys Patricia C . McLane and Clinton J . Fuchs for prosecuting the case .
