☷Wife daughter pin two star rank on Picatinny commanding general during promotion ceremony

In a ceremony at Picatinny Arsenal , Brig . Gen . John T . Reim was promoted to the rank of major general . His wife , Patty , and daughter , 1st Lt . Taylor Reim , pinned the two - star rank to his jacket . The ceremony was hosted by Gen . Michael E . Kurilla , who administered the officer ' s oath via video teleconference . Reim is the first two - star general to lead the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments and Ammunition , responsible for developing and procuring lethal armaments and ammunition for joint warfighters . Kurilla praised Reim ' s impact on the Army and the special operations forces community . Reim is also the first two - star general to command Picatinny Arsenal since 2006 . The Arsenal is known for its expertise in advanced armaments and ammunition . Reim expressed admiration for the team at Picatinny Arsenal and their dedication to the mission . They really care about their people . They have a can - do attitude every day . I ' m grateful to be a part of this awesome team . " Reim is originally from Franklinville and graduated from West Point in 1990 with a degree in Engineering Management . He also has a Master ' s degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University . When asked about his plans after his promotion , Reim said , "I ' m staying right where I am . " He feels honored to be able to continue the important work of rebuilding the Arsenal of Democracy and supporting international operations , as well as his day - to - day responsibilities in Army modernization and readiness . Reim expressed his gratitude to all the current and former Army teammates who have supported him throughout his career . He also thanked his wife Patty and their children , as well as his extended family . Reim mentioned that they have received many congratulations leading up to the promotion ceremony and realized how fortunate they are to have such incredible people in their lives . He acknowledged that the support , guidance , and teamwork from these individuals have allowed them to continue to serve in the Army and made the promotion ceremony possible .
