☷US African Partners Participate in Justified Accord Exercise

Over 1 , 000 personnel and units from 23 nations are taking part in Justified Accord 2024 , which is U . S . Africa Command ' s biggest exercise in East Africa . It ' s happening from Feb . 26 to March 7 and is being led by U . S . Army Southern European Task Force , Africa ( SETAF - AF ) in Kenya . The goal of this multinational exercise is to prepare the U . S . joint force and regional partners for missions mandated by the U . N . and A . U . It also aims to improve collaboration and support for humanitarian assistance , disaster response , and crisis response . The exercise includes various activities such as staff officer academics , a Women , Peace and Security panel , and a command post exercise in Nairobi . At the same time , the Kenya Defence Forces will host a field training exercise , urban operations training , and a medical civic action program at the Counter Insurgency , Terrorism and Stability Operations center in Nanyuki , providing medical care to rural Kenyans . Several U . S . Army units are participating , including the Massachusetts National Guard and U . S . Army Reserve units . The exercise will also involve the U . K . ' s 11th SFAB ( Irish Guards ) partnering with the 2SFAB to provide expertise to a multinational team from Kenya , Djibouti , Somalia , and Tanzania . The National Guard Bureau ' s State Partnership Program will also be featured , with soldiers from the Massachusetts National Guard exchanging best practices with Kenyan forces . This exercise demonstrates the commitment of the U . S . and partner nations to regional security and crisis response . SETAF - AF plays a crucial role in synchronizing Army activities in Africa and providing crisis response options in Africa and Europe for U . S . Africa Command and U . S . Army Europe and Africa .
