FOREIGN MINISTER CHO: Thanks , Tony . It ' s a huge honor to be here today , and I appreciate the warm welcome for me and my team . It ' s only been six days since we saw each other in Rio , and you were the first to call and congratulate me on my first day in office . I ' m looking forward to seeing you again in three weeks at the Summit for Democracy , which I really appreciate you committing to attend . Our frequent meetings show how strong our partnership is , especially with President Yoon ' s historic state visit last year . This year marks a new chapter in our alliance , growing even stronger . President Yoon and President Biden are both committed to expanding and strengthening the alliance . We ' re always on the same page when it comes to regional and global challenges . We both condemn North Korea ' s provocative actions and support Ukraine . We also work together to protect navigational rights in the Gulf of Aden . All of this is possible because of the strong commitment from the US and the confidence Korea has in the alliance . SECRETARY BLINKEN: Hey everyone , good afternoon . So glad to have you here , Foreign Minister . We were just hanging out in Brazil a few days ago at the G20 , where we had a really productive meeting with our friend from Japan . But it ' s awesome to have you here in Washington at the State Department . Our partnership with Korea and the United States is stronger than ever , in every way you can think of . Korea really leads the way in all areas , and we ' re super grateful for that . We ' re working together on all the big challenges around the world , and also creating more opportunities for our people in both countries . We ' ve got a lot to talk about , but I also want to say thanks to Korea for hosting the next Summit for Democracy . President Biden really cares about this , and we ' re excited to be a part of it . So , Tae - yul , welcome . It ' s great to have you here today . Secretary Blinken: Thanks a bunch , everyone .
