☷Springfield Rapper Pleads Guilty to Illegal Firearms

A guy from Springfield , Missouri , who was in a local rap group , pleaded guilty in federal court today for having guns illegally . Ezekiel Josiah King , who is 20 years old , admitted to being a drug user and having firearms . His co - defendant , Jardell Carlin Williams , also 20 years old , pleaded guilty on May 16 , 2023 , for the same charges . King was caught with a loaded Glock . 45 - caliber pistol and an Anderson AM - 15 rifle with ammunition , while driving a gold Nissan Altima that was stopped by Springfield police . Williams had a Glock . 40 - caliber pistol and additional ammunition . Both guys admitted to smoking weed regularly . King could face up to 10 years in prison , while Williams could face up to 25 years . Sentencing hearings are scheduled for both defendants . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods , a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence . On May 26th , 2021 , the Department rolled out a new strategy to tackle violent crime . They ' re focusing on building trust in our communities , supporting local organizations that work to prevent violence , setting clear enforcement priorities , and keeping track of the outcomes .
