☷Helena Man Suspected of Threatening To Attack Helena Public Schools Building Admits to Illegally Possessing Homemade Bombs Silencer

A guy from Helena , Montana recently confessed to having homemade bombs and a silencer without permission . He was accused of trying to attack a school building and now faces up to 10 years in prison , a $250 , 000 fine , and 3 years of supervised release for each charge . The court will decide his sentence on May 22 . In May 2022 , the Helena Police Department received a tip that this guy had multiple bombs , access to firearms , and was planning an attack at a local high school . He even mentioned wanting to do something like the Columbine shooting and showed off his weapons to someone . The police arrested him and found even more firearms , ammunition , and homemade explosive devices in his car and home . So basically , this expert dude from the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives checked out those pipe bombs and confirmed that they had explosive stuff inside . He also figured out that the Fram oil filter was rigged to make a gun quieter . Turns out , it ' s illegal to have those suppressor things and destructive devices without registering them . This whole case is being handled by Assistant U . S . Attorney Jeffrey K . Starnes , and it was investigated by a bunch of different law enforcement agencies . Oh , and it ' s part of this program called Project Safe Neighborhoods , which is all about reducing crime and gun violence in our communities . They ' ve got this new strategy to crack down on violent crime and measure the results .
