☷HUD Announces Nearly $9 Million to Support People Experiencing Homelessness in Florida through Disaster Recovery Program

HUD has awarded $8 . 7 million in RUSH funding to Florida and six localities affected by Hurricane Ian to help those experiencing homelessness . The funding will provide support for individuals living in emergency shelters , transitional housing , or unfit living conditions . This is the second round of funding aimed at assisting communities in Florida recover from the storms . HUD is dedicated to working with local partners to ensure that those in need have access to safe housing during times of crisis . Additional support is crucial given the extent of damage and displacement caused by the storms . This funding can be used for things like emergency shelter and rental assistance for those experiencing homelessness , as well as prevention services for those at risk of homelessness . RUSH funding is also available for communities to help those impacted by disasters who may not qualify for FEMA assistance . HUD is providing this funding to help those displaced by disasters .
