☷Fifteen Kokomo Methamphetamine Traffickers Dealers Sentenced to a Total of Over 175 Years in Federal Prison

Fifteen people have been found guilty and sentenced for their involvement in a major drug trafficking operation in Kokomo . It all started in 2020 when the Kokomo Police Department Drug Task Force , along with the DEA and other law enforcement agencies , launched an investigation into multiple individuals selling illegal drugs in the area . After two years , fifteen individuals were charged in the Southern District of Indiana with various drug trafficking offenses . As a result of the investigation , law enforcement seized around 18 . 3 pounds of methamphetamine , 171 grams of fentanyl , 48 grams of heroin , $95 , 664 in cash , and 11 firearms . The individuals involved were handed various prison sentences for their crimes . United States Attorney Zachary A . Myers emphasized the harmful effects of drugs like methamphetamine on communities and praised the collaborative efforts of law enforcement in combating drug trafficking . “This investigation is another example that drug trafficking will not be tolerated in Kokomo and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible to protect our community , ” said Kokomo Police Chief Douglas Stout . “The Kokomo Police Department is grateful to be able to work with partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U . S . Attorney ' s Office , and we commend them for their assistance in pursuing offenders in our community . ” The Kokomo Police Department and Drug Die Enforcement Administration investigated this case with valuable assistance from the IRS Criminal Investigations , the U . S . Postal Inspection Service , the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives and the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force . The sentences were imposed by U . S . District Court Judges Sarah Evans Barker , James P . Hanlon , Jane Magnus - Stinson , James R . Sweeney and Chief Judge Tanya Walton Pratt . Each defendant will be monitored by the U . S . Probation Office for three to 10 years following their release from federal prison . Attorney Myers thanked Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Brady , who prosecuted these cases . This case was part of an investigation by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force ( OCDETF ) .
