   American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva has been in a Russian prison in Kazan for 100 days without access to consular assistance or contact with her family . RFE/RL Acting President Stephen Capus is calling for her immediate release . Colleagues from RFE/RL have created a video in 38 languages saying "Free Alsu" to show support . Alsu , who has dual U . S . and Russian citizenship , was detained while visiting her sick mother . RFE/RL is an independent news organization funded by the U . S . Congress .
