☷Department of Labor inspection finds Hanover Foods subsidiary exposing South Jersey employees to workplace safety dangers proposes $463K penalty

A recent federal investigation by the U . S . Department of Labor ' s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has found that Aunt Kitty ' s Food Inc . , a subsidiary of Hanover Foods Corp . , has violated several safety regulations in their Vineland plant . The investigation discovered that workers were allowed to service and clean equipment without proper procedures to prevent machinery from starting unexpectedly . As a result , OSHA has cited Aunt Kitty ' s Food Inc . with seven safety violations , including one willful violation and two repeat violations . The proposed penalty is $463 , 224 . The violations include the failure to establish and follow a lockout/tagout program , failure to maintain a clean and dry work floor , lack of proper guarding on a conveyor system , failure to train workers on lockout/tagout procedures , failure to conduct annual audits , and failure to provide baseline and annual audiograms for workers . OSHA is determined to hold Aunt Kitty ' s Food Inc . accountable for their negligence in providing a safe workplace . Aunt Kitty ' s Food Inc . is a subsidiary of Hanover Foods Corp . , based in Pennsylvania , and manufactures canned goods under various brands . The company has 15 days to comply with the citations and penalties , request an informal conference , or contest the findings .
