☷Scouts Honored at National Cryptologic Museum s Annual Scout Day

One Scout was over the moon after attending the National Cryptologic Museum’s annual event on Saturday March 2nd , 2024 . Despite the rain , the event was a hit with a near record number of attendees , over 650 people , showing up in just six hours . Scout Day at the NCM welcomed scouts and families from all over Maryland and beyond , with some traveling long distances to join in on the fun . The event featured a range of activities like fingerprinting , robotics , invisible ink , and a scavenger hunt spread throughout the museum . Scouts also had the chance to earn a Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge by completing tasks that gave them insight into living with different impairments . Scout leaders believe events like this help broaden their scouts ' perspectives . Stan Zdun , Scoutmaster for Troop 249 in Edgewater , Md , highlighted the importance of understanding the history of coding and cryptology . Jennifer Wilcox , the museum’s Director of Education , and her team worked tirelessly to make this year ' s Scout Day a huge success . The National Cryptologic Museum , the only public museum in the Intelligence Community , is now open Monday through Saturday from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m .
