☷Stanberry Man Indicted for Illegal Firearm

A guy from Stanberry got indicted by a federal grand jury today for having an unregistered short shotgun . Erin L . Graves , who ' s 44 years old , was charged with two counts by the federal grand jury in Kansas City , Mo . The indictment claims that Graves had a Remington 20 - gauge shotgun with a barrel less than 18 inches long on Jan . 15 . He ' s charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing an unregistered firearm . According to federal law , it ' s illegal for someone with a felony conviction to have a gun or ammunition . Graves has a record of five felony convictions for stealing , two for driving with a suspended or revoked license , two for tampering with a vehicle , two for burglary , and other convictions for drug possession and resisting arrest . Remember , these charges are just accusations and not proof of guilt . The evidence supporting the charges will be presented to a federal trial jury , who will decide guilt or innocence . This case is being handled by Special Assistant U . S . Attorney Jessica L . Jennings . It was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives ( ATF ) , the Gentry County Sheriff ' s Office , and the Northwest Missouri Drug Task Force . This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , a program that brings together law enforcement and communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence and make neighborhoods safer . On May 26 , 2021 , the Department of Justice launched a strategy to strengthen PSN with a focus on building trust , supporting community organizations , setting enforcement priorities , and measuring results .
