Timothy M . O’Shea , the U . S . Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin , announced that a guy named Arron W . Dupler , 34 , from Darien , got sentenced today by Judge William M . Conley to two years in prison for having a gun even though he ' s not supposed to . Dupler ' s federal sentence will happen after he finishes two other sentences he owes to the state . He admitted to the federal charge on November 1 , 2023 . Cops started looking into Dupler after they heard he was putting up pictures of guns on Facebook and trying to sell them . On March 4 , 2022 , Dupler sold a Ruger LCP . 380 handgun to an undercover cop . He showed the cop pictures of other guns he had sold before and said he could get more . Dupler can ' t have guns because he already got convicted of two felonies in 2007 and 2018 . During the sentencing , Judge Conley said the scariest thing about Dupler ' s crime was when he told the undercover cop that the gun had "no bodies" on it and only five rounds had been fired from it . Judge Conley pointed out that these things would make it harder to track the gun if it was used in another crime . The charges against Dupler came after an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , the Janesville Police Department , and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation . Assistant U . S . Attorneys Anita Marie Boor and Megan Stelljes handled the case .
