According to court documents , security camera footage captured Green outside the Donut Hole donut shop in the early hours of October 31 , 2022 . He placed a flyer with anti - LGBTQ slogans on a neighboring business before breaking the glass door of the donut shop with a baseball bat . Green then lit a homemade incendiary device , commonly known as a "Molotov Cocktail , " and threw it into the restaurant . Although the device didn ' t fully detonate , it still caused fire damage to the business . Green will remain in custody until he is transferred to a U . S . Bureau of Prisons facility . The case was investigated by the ATF and Tulsa Fire Department , with Assistant U . S . Attorney Nathan E . Michel and Christopher J . Nassar prosecuting . Court documents revealed that Green had previously been arrested for arson at another restaurant in Tulsa County in 2021 . However , the case was dismissed due to the absence of the prosecuting witness . Investigators also received reports of Green causing disturbances and leaving anti - LGBTQ flyers at other LGBTQ - friendly businesses in the Tulsa area . During a search of Green ' s residence , investigators found multiple copies of newspaper articles about the vandalized donut shop . The ATF Certified Fire Investigator noted that arsonists often keep souvenirs or "trophies . " The search also uncovered similar flyers to those left at the Donut Hole , as well as clothing and the lighter seen in the security footage .
