Raytheon Missiles and Defense in Marlborough , Massachusetts , has been awarded a $38 . 9 million order for components for Japan ' s AEGIS system - equipped vessels and Navy guided - missile destroyers . The majority of the funding comes from the government of Japan under the Foreign Military Sales program . Work will be primarily done in Massachusetts and Virginia and is expected to be completed by July 2027 . Q . E . D . Systems Inc . in Virginia Beach has received a $30 . 8 million modification for support requirements for various Navy ship classes . Marine Hydraulics International LLC in Norfolk , Virginia , has been awarded a $19 million modification for the repair , maintenance , and modernization of USS Mesa Verde ( LPD 19 ) for fiscal year 2024 . We ' ve got some work happening in Norfolk , Virginia that should be wrapped up by August 2025 . Leidos Inc . in Reston , Virginia is getting a $17 , 105 , 151 modification to work on some unmanned surface vessels . Vigor Marine LLC in Portland , Oregon is getting $15 , 845 , 754 to extend the USS Cape St . George ' s modernization period in Seattle , Washington . And Lockheed Martin Corp . in Manassas , Virginia is getting $15 , 636 , 492 to support the Integrated Submarine Imaging System . Just some updates on what ' s going on in the Navy!Leidos Inc . in Reston , Virginia has been awarded an $18 , 824 , 820 contract for cryptologic training - intelligence operations support . The work will primarily take place in San Antonio , Texas and is expected to be completed by March 16 , 2025 . The funds for this contract come from fiscal year 2024 operation and maintenance . The contracting activity is BAE Systems Land and Armaments L . P . based in Minneapolis , Minnesota . They have been awarded a $12 , 967 , 143 delivery order for the procurement of 39 MK38 MOD3 conversion kits . The work will be split between Haifa , Israel ( 70% ) and Louisville , Kentucky ( 30% ) , and is expected to be completed by January 2027 . The funds for this order come from fiscal year 2024 weapons procurement ( Navy ) and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year . This delivery order was not competitively procured as there is only one responsible source that can meet the agency ' s requirements . In the Air Force , Akima Intra - Data LLC in Colorado Springs , Colorado and Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi have received a $28 , 958 , 885 modification to their contract for base operations support services at Keesler AFB . The work will be performed at Keesler AFB and is expected to be completed by March 31 , 2025 . The funds for this modification come from fiscal year 2024 operations and maintenance . Cellphire Inc . will be responsible for all aspects of the development , testing , manufacturing , and regulatory activities to create an FDA - licensed cryopreserved platelet product that can be used by both civilians and the military . The company will explore strategies to expedite licensure and availability of the product . The funding for this project comes from fiscal year 2023 and fiscal year 2024 research , development , test , and evaluation funds . This contract was awarded through a competitive acquisition process , with 18 offers received . The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Arlington , Virginia , is managing the contract .
