   Yesterday , Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo had a virtual meeting with the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness , which was recently rechartered . She discussed updates on various initiatives related to supply chains , including the bioeconomy and the Indo - Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity Supply Chain Agreement . The Committee also provided feedback on key priorities such as strengthening supply chain resilience and diversification . The Committee advises the Secretary of Commerce on national freight infrastructure and policies to support export growth and economic competitiveness . The Supply Chain Center is working on innovative tools and analyses to address supply chain challenges proactively . The Center aims to work closely with the private sector and other stakeholders to strategically prioritize policy focus and action using data - driven risk analysis . It also aims to enhance the impact of U . S . Government investments and collaborate with industry to strengthen supply chains and support American businesses . Gina M . Raimondo , the Secretary of the International Trade Administration , is leading these efforts in the semiconductor industry .
