Three New York Army National Guard Soldiers worked together to track down a suspected arsonist who tried to set fire to a building near a Long Island City hotel housing migrants . Spc . Jaslin Guzman , Sgt . Animesh Das , and Staff Sgt . Richard Miller were on duty at the City View Inn when they noticed someone throwing bottles out of a silver SUV . Guzman yelled at the man to stop , prompting Das to join in and see what was happening . When flames erupted on the fence , Das went outside to capture the offender ' s license plate , while Guzman pursued the suspect in her car . Miller helped extinguish the fire and made sure his fellow Soldiers were unharmed . The information was then delivered to the authorities by Guzman and Das . The fire department said that the Soldiers gave some helpful info that helped fire marshals and police figure out who Huang was . After watching the video , fire investigators found out that Huang , who apparently had some beef with the owner of the other building , was seen buying gasoline from a nearby station and then trying to burn down the business . The fire marshals caught Huang on Feb . 6 , and now the Queens District Attorney ' s office is gonna take care of him .
