A guy from St . Cloud got slapped with a 10 - year prison sentence for having a bunch of guns he wasn ' t supposed to have . The U . S . Attorney , Andrew M . Luger , announced the sentence . This dude , Roberto Antwan Williams , tried to rob someone with a gun outside an apartment in St . Cloud back in July 2020 . The victim identified Williams and the cops caught him in a car . They found a gun in the glovebox with Williams ' DNA on it . In another incident in November 2020 , a five - year - old kid got shot in the head and died at a St . Cloud hospital . Williams and his fiancé , who ' s the kid ' s mom , were at the hospital and claimed they were shopping when they got a call about the kid getting hurt . Williams said they rushed home and took the kid to the hospital together . But the cops saw surveillance video from a neighbor that showed the fiancé bringing the kid to the hospital alone while Williams dumped two backpacks in a bin outside their house . The cops got a warrant and found the backpacks with a rifle and a purple Taurus 9mm pistol with an extended magazine inside . The gun had the kid ' s blood on it . They also searched Williams ' phone and found a picture of the purple Taurus pistol with the text "my new toy . " Williams got convicted of having the guns as a felon on August 29 , 2023 , by a federal jury . Since he had previous felony convictions , he ain ' t allowed to have guns or ammo . Yesterday , U . S . District Judge Ann D . Montgomery sentenced him . The Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , the FBI , the St . Cloud Police Department , and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension worked on this case .
