☷Boston Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Trafficking Conspiracy

A guy from Boston admitted today that he was involved in a plan to bring guns from Alabama to Massachusetts . Kobe Smith , 25 , pleaded guilty to conspiring to transport firearms illegally . The judge set the sentencing for June 12 , 2024 . Smith was indicted by a grand jury in July 2022 along with Jahquel Pringle , Jarmori Brown , and Brandon Moore . They all worked together to get at least 24 guns from Alabama and bring them to Boston . Smith would order the guns from Moore and Pringle would go on two trips to Alabama to pick them up and bring them back to Boston . Some of the guns were found on the streets of Boston . Smith is the last one to plead guilty in this case . Brown was already sentenced to 18 months in prison and Pringle and Moore are still waiting for their sentences . The charge for conspiring to transport firearms illegally can lead to up to five years in prison , three years of supervised release , and a fine of $250 , 000 . The announcement was made by Acting U . S . Attorney Joshua S . Levy and James M . Ferguson , who is in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives in the Boston area . This case is part of a program called Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) that aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence . The program brings together law enforcement and the community to make neighborhoods safer .
