Two Shreveport residents , LaDarrell C . Washington , Jr . , 24 , and Stacy Deshane Borner , 22 , have been sentenced for having illegal possession of machine guns , according to U . S . Attorney Brandon B . Brown . U . S . District Judge S . Maurice Hicks , Jr . gave Borner a 51 - month prison sentence , while Washington received 55 months . They will also serve three years of supervised release after their prison terms . The charges stem from an incident on March 28 , 2022 , when officers from the Shreveport Violent Crime Abatement Team ( VCAT ) received information about the whereabouts of Washington and Borner , who were fugitives from Desoto Parish . VCAT officers went to their residence in Shreveport and approached the front door , which was open but had a closed burglar bar door . They heard what sounded like people running inside the house and instructed them to come out . Eventually , several occupants , including two female residents , exited the home . Borner also left the residence . A search warrant was obtained , and officers found Washington hiding in a bedroom closet . They discovered multiple firearms , including converted machine guns , in the same bedroom . The firearms seized were a Glock Model 17 Gen4 9x19mm with a Glock switch , an Anderson Manufacturing AM - 15 5 . 56 mm rifle with a drop - in auto sear , a SCCY CPX - 2 9mm pistol , a Sig Sauer P320 9mm pistol , and a Century Arms AK47 rifle . Washington , Borner , and the other occupants were taken to the police station for questioning . The two females stated that none of the firearms belonged to them and that Washington and Borner , along with the males present in the residence , arrived that morning carrying at least one firearm each . Agents discovered social media videos of Borner and others shooting machine guns from car windows . They also obtained a rap video featuring Borner and a juvenile taking turns holding a Glock gun with a Glock switch , which was one of the guns seized . ATF agents confirmed that the seized firearms with conversion devices were indeed machine guns . Washington had a prior conviction in 2019 for possessing a stolen firearm and was aware that he was prohibited from having any firearms or ammunition . Borner and Washington both admitted to having illegal firearms . The Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives and the Shreveport Police Department investigated the case , and Assistant U . S . Attorney J . Aaron Crawford handled the prosecution . This is part of a program called Project Safe Neighborhoods ( PSN ) , which aims to reduce violent crime and make our communities safer . PSN involves collaboration between law enforcement at all levels and the local community to develop strategies for reducing violence .
