☷Minneapolis Felon Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison for Firearms Violations

A guy from Minneapolis has been given a sentence of 111 months in prison and three years of supervised release for having a gun as a felon and carrying a gun during a drug trafficking crime . This was announced by U . S . Attorney Andrew M . Luger . According to court documents , on February 13 , 2023 , the police responded to a report of a man in a white Kia with Colorado plates , wearing a mask and waving a handgun . When the police arrived , they told the guy , Tracrill Smith , to get out of the car and put him in handcuffs . They found a 9mm pistol with no serial number and loaded with a lot of fentanyl pills and powder in the car . Smith already had a felony conviction , so he ' s not allowed to have guns or ammo according to federal law . He pleaded guilty on October 19 , 2023 , and was sentenced today by Senior Judge Michael J . Davis . The Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives , the Maplewood Police Department , and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office all worked on this case . Assistant U . S . Attorney Mary S . Riverso was the prosecutor .
