John Raymond got sentenced today in U . S . District Court for his involvement in a violent home invasion in Rangeley back in 2016 . Judge Nancy Torresen gave him 48 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release . According to court records , Raymond and his buddies came up with a plan to steal drugs from a house in Rangeley . On July 28 , 2016 , Raymond even bought drugs from the owner to confirm their illegal activities . Later that evening , he drove two of his friends to the house while he waited in the car . Unfortunately , things went south and one of his buddies got shot and killed during the robbery . Raymond panicked and ran away when he heard the chaos . Cops eventually caught him while he was driving another friend to a bus station . His co - conspirators are still awaiting sentencing . The case was investigated by several law enforcement agencies , including the DEA and Maine State Police .
