The City of Reno in collaboration with the Nevada Department of Employment , Training and Rehabilitation ( DETR ) are proud to announce the opening of the ‘Biggest Little Café ' inside the lobby of City Hall lobby . To officially open the Café , the City and DETR will hold ribbon - cutting ceremony on Wednesday , January 17 , 2024 . The media and public are invited to attend .
The cafe brings a variety food and beverage options catering to a variety of tastes including:
Coffee and other caffeinated beverages , juices , milk and sodas
Grab - and - go snacks like granola bars , nuts and jerky
Pastries , bagels , oatmeal , cereal and muffins
Hot and cold sandwiches and salads
Breakfast burritos
Operated by DETR’s Vocational Rehabilitation division through the Business Enterprises of Nevada ( BEN ) program , the Café provides entrepreneurial opportunities for individuals who are blind to own and operate vending facilities in public buildings and properties . The BEN program is an extension of Nevada’s Vocational Rehabilitation program under the Bureau of Services to Persons who are Blind or Visually Impaired .
“If you support the Café , you are also supporting the success of DETR’s program and helping create an even larger inclusive community , ” said Vice Mayor Naomi Duerr . “It is a win - win as people in downtown have another convenient way to get food while helping to expand an amazing service offered by DETR . ”
In spring 2024 , the Café will expand outside , adding tables and chairs outside the main entrance of City Hall .
The Biggest Little Café is open Monday through Friday , 7 a . m . - 3 p . m .
