   Wilmington’s Public Works Department has compiled the attached list of streets on which construction or maintenance will occur this week by the City itself , or by either DelDOT , Delmarva Power , or private contractors . This information is for 
   Monday , March 4 through Saturday , March 9 , 2024
    .  
   The City’s website contains a 
   real - time map
    that is updated daily so you can follow any changes to the weekly schedule caused by weather or other construction - related delays .  Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams said every effort is made to compile the most accurate list each week of street projects that could affect your travel in the City the following week . She cautioned , however , that the time frames for the listed projects could be altered if they are delayed due to factors such as the weather .  
   St . Patrick’s Day Festivities
   Motorists are advised that there are two St . Patrick’s Day events in the City of Wilmington next week that will result in street closures and detours . These include: 
   The annual 
   Painting of the Stripe
    along the 1000 block of King Street , in advance of the 47
   th
    Annual St . Patrick’s Day Parade and Hooley , will take place on 
   Friday , March 8 , at 10:00 a . m .
    Downton motorists are advised that King Street will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at about 9:30 a . m . The street will reopen to traffic at about 11:00 a . m .

   The annual 
   St . Patrick’s Day Parade and Hooley
    
   will also take place on 
   Saturday , March 9th
    . Street closures associated with this event will begin at 11:00 a . m . and continue until about 4:00 p . m . , as follows:

   Southbound vehicular traffic on North Market Street will also be diverted to North Park Drive - West 18

   The 
   Delaware Department of Transportation ( DelDOT )
    has announced the following projects that will impact motorists in and around Wilmington in the coming weeks: 
   Beginning Monday , March 4 , there will be a single lane restriction on Washington Street between West 14
   th
    Street and West 16
   th
    Street weekdays from 7:00 a . m . to 5:00 p . m .
   Crews continue to carry out the next phase of the Rogers Road Reconstruction Project
    .  
   Rogers Road eastbound will remain closed until Monday , March 18 . Motorists wanting to travel east on Rogers Road will continue north on South Heald Street , turn right onto D Street , and right again onto New Castle Avenue , to Rogers Road . Motorists should use caution and expect minor delays in the area .
   The Walnut Street Bridge
    will reopen to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on
    Sunday , March 3
    . A detour is posted and motorists should continue to use caution and expect minor delays in the area until Sunday .
