Avondale to Hold Citizens Water Academy
The City of Avondale is inviting residents to participate in the Avondale Citizens Water Academy , a five - part series that offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the city ' s water and wastewater infrastructure . The hands - on and interactive series will be held in April , on Tuesdays from 5:30 p . m . to 8:30 p . m .
Classes will be held at the Avondale Public Work’s Municipal Operations Service Center located at 399 E . Lower Buckeye Rd . , Avondale , AZ 85323 .
The Avondale Citizens Water Academy will provide participants with an exclusive behind - the - scenes look at the city ' s water reclamation facility , wetlands , and recharge basins . Led by Avondale ' s water professionals , the series will cover a range of topics including understanding the water source , treatment process , delivery systems , reclamation efforts , and funding through water rates .
"We are excited to offer this unique opportunity for our residents to learn about our city ' s water and wastewater management , " said Cole Pihl , Water Resources Manager . "Our goal is to inform our community on the importance of these services and how they are managed . "
The first session of the Avondale Citizens Water Academy will kick off on April 2 . Light dinner will be served at each session , providing a casual and informative atmosphere for learning about the intricacies of water and wastewater management .
