Hey , just wanted to let you know that the United States Mint is gonna start selling rolls and bags of the second American Innovation $1 Coin for Alabama on April 8 at noon EDT . These coins recognize the innovation from Alabama and there are different packaging options available from the Mint ' s facilities in Philadelphia and Denver . The prices for the rolls and bags are listed as well . The Director of the Mint , Ventris C . Gibson , said they ' re excited to release this coin that celebrates the Saturn V rocket and its connection to the Apollo program . Alabama Governor Kay Ivey also chimed in , saying how proud they are to have the Saturn V rocket represented on this special coin . If you ' re interested , you can set up a reminder for when the Alabama American Innovation $1 Coin becomes available . Just visit the product detail page . Oh , and there ' s a limit to how many items you can order for the first 24 hours . It ' s 10 items per household . This American Innovation $1 Coin Program started in 2018 and it ' s a multi - year series that highlights the ingenuity and pioneering efforts of individuals or groups from all 50 states . The Alabama coin shows the Saturn V rocket taking off with the Moon in the background . The obverse of all the coins in this program features the Statue of Liberty with the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1 . " So , if you ' re interested in getting these coins , you can include them in the Mint ' s Product Subscription Program . This program is set up like a magazine subscription , allowing customers to easily sign up to receive regular shipments of products . Shipments will continue until the subscription is cancelled .
